If there is a topic you have a very strong interest in pursuing or learning more about that is not offered - please speak with your respective ICT Specialist (Rob, Nathan, Phil) to receive support.

  • Video Creation - Process of recording, downloading, and creating a short video. Session Leader: Rob - Junior School Computer Lab

  • Edmodo - Extending the conversation and connection beyond the classroom. During this session you will be walked through how to set up Edmodo for your class and how to effectively use it to support the work you are doing in your classroom. Session Leader: Rebecca - Room 214

  • Creating Your Own YouTube Channel In this hands-on session participants will create a YouTube channel to organize educational videos. Participants will also use the Explain Everything APP to create original Khan Academy style videos that can be uploaded to YouTube. Session Leader: Paul - Room 216

  • Authenticity and ICT: In this session, we will explore how to create authentic learning opportunities for our learners through virtual experiences which allow them to actually interact with the larger community in meaningful ways. Session Leader: Matt - Room 212

    Maple the Manitoba Professional Learning Environment is a new Manitoba Education service: an online educational community that provides educators access to resources, professional learning services and opportunities for collaboration and interaction. Maple is also an official channel for communicating Manitoba Education plans, initiatives, programs and curricula to educators and school leaders. In this session, we will explore how to create authentic learning opportunities for our learners through virtual experiences which allow them to actually interact with the larger community in meaningful ways. Through a variety of platforms, participants will look at how technology can allow teachers the time and space to foster experiences whereby students receive feedback from elders, peers, and experts in an effort to push their understanding of the world in rigorous and transformative ways. This session will look closely at the relationship between teaching as technology, or method, and teaching and learning for cognitive dissonance.
